Uzbekistan Shines at ITF J30 International Junior Tennis Tournament in Namangan

Namangan, The Gulf Observer: The winners and prize-winners of the International Tennis Federation (ITF) J30 category junior tournament have been officially announced in Namangan, with Uzbek players delivering an exceptional performance on home soil.

In the men’s singles final, Uzbekistan’s Mahmudbek Beknazarov emerged victorious after a hard-fought battle against Germany’s Viggo Wagenknecht, winning 7:6, 6:3 to claim the tournament’s top honor. Beknazarov continued his success in the doubles event, where he teamed up with Abdurakhmon Karimov to defeat all their opponents and secure the runner-up position.

Meanwhile, in the women’s doubles final, Shahodat Ortiqbaeva of Uzbekistan, alongside Kazakhstan’s Linara Bulesheva, triumphed over the pair of Kira Ertman (Kazakhstan) and neutral athlete Alexandra Kachushkina, winning 6:3, 6:2. With this victory, Shahodat and Linara were crowned champions of the prestigious event.

A minor incident occurred during the singles match involving neutral player Tatiana Golovina, who was accused of striking into an empty net mid-match. However, the incident did not overshadow the overall success of the tournament.

The tournament, sanctioned by the International Tennis Federation, served as a vital platform for junior players to gain international experience and showcase emerging tennis talent from Uzbekistan and beyond.
