Uzbekistan–Tajikistan Dialogue Deepens with Focus on Legislative Cooperation and Regional Engagement

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Republic of Uzbekistan, Nasreddin Ismatullo, paid an official visit to the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, where he held a meeting with Chairperson of the Senate, Tanzila Narbayeva.

During the discussions, both sides noted with satisfaction that relations between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan have reached a qualitatively new level in recent years. They highlighted the intensification of political dialogue and the steady expansion of trade, economic, investment, as well as cultural and humanitarian cooperation.

Special emphasis was placed on strengthening inter-parliamentary relations as a key pillar of bilateral engagement. The participants underlined the importance of exchanging experience in the field of lawmaking, advancing joint legislative initiatives, and maintaining active dialogue on international parliamentary platforms.

The two sides also stressed the need to enhance interregional contacts and deepen cooperation with local Councils within the framework of practical programs implemented by the cooperation commissions of the upper houses of both parliaments.

The meeting reflected the shared commitment of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan to further consolidating their strategic partnership through sustained parliamentary diplomacy and comprehensive collaboration across multiple sectors.
