Uzbekistan, Tajikistan Presidents Launch Major Joint Projects Following Supreme Interstate Council Meeting

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: The President of Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of Emomali Rahmon jointly participated in a landmark ceremony to launch a series of major bilateral cooperation projects following the inaugural meeting of the Supreme Interstate Council.
During the ceremony, the two leaders officially initiated the implementation of 10 collaborative projects spanning multiple sectors aimed at strengthening economic ties and industrial cooperation between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.
The projects include the establishment of joint enterprises for the production of furniture and leather goods, as well as the expansion of household appliance manufacturing. Plans were also unveiled for the construction of textile facilities in Tajikistan, alongside the development of a residential complex and commercial infrastructure in Tashkent.
In addition, new production facilities will be set up across various regions of Uzbekistan, including canned food manufacturing in the Fergana region, dairy production in the Andijan region, and the processing of fruit juices and metal briquettes in the Surkhandarya region.
As part of the symbolic gestures to further cement bilateral ties, a ceremonial event was held to name a street in New Tashkent after the capital city of Tajikistan, Dushanbe.
Both presidents expressed strong confidence that the timely execution of these projects will significantly enhance trade, investment, and overall economic cooperation between the two neighboring countries, marking a new phase in their strategic partnership.
