Uzbekistan to host “Wiki Loves Monuments” contest
Baku, The Gulf Observer: The International Contest “Wiki Loves Monuments” is held annually worldwide. More than 40 countries, including Uzbekistan, will participate in the contest this year. Participants will take pictures of historical buildings and landmarks and then upload them to Wikimedia Commons.
The competition’s primary goal is to attract attention to the architectural heritage and cultural heritage monuments, as well as the development of tourism in the participating countries.
Wiki Loves Monuments (WLM) is an international photo contest held annually in different countries in autumn. It was first held in 2010.
The republican stage of the contest is organized by the Wikimedia Community of Uzbekistan and the Russian Wikigid community participants with the support of the Wikimedia Foundation and the Ministry of Natural Resources of Uzbekistan.
This year, the jury will select up to 15 photos in two categories: landscapes and macro, with up to 10 shots each.
