Uzbekistan, US Strengthen Educational Ties with Presentation of Ongoing and Planned Grants
Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: In a collaborative effort, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the US Embassy in Tashkent organized a presentation on February 12, 2024, showcasing ongoing and planned US grants in the field of education.
The event saw the participation of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Muzaffar Madrakhimov, and David Hoffman, the Director of the US Agency for International Development (USAID) Mission in Uzbekistan. Representatives from key Uzbekistan ministries, including Higher Education, Science and Innovation, Preschool and School Education, the El-Yurt Umidi Foundation, and the Academy of Public Administration, were also present.
US representatives delivered a comprehensive presentation on existing projects in the education sector and outlined short-term plans to deepen collaboration. The discussion encompassed various aspects of project implementation, focusing on the reform of the education system, enhancement of human capital, support for English language teaching, and the expansion of university partnerships.
The exchange of views highlighted the commitment to continued close cooperation in the implementation of joint projects and other educational and exchange programs. The presentation marked a significant step in fostering educational ties between Uzbekistan and the United States.
