Uzbek President will visit Saudi Arabia

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will pay a state visit to Saudi Arabia on 17-18 August at the invitation of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. This was announced at a briefing today by the press secretary of the President, Sherzod Asadov.

At the briefing, journalists were given information about the visits of the Head of our state Shavkat Mirziyoyev this week. He noted that this is the first visit of the head of state of Uzbekistan to Saudi Arabia over the past 30 years.

High-level talks will take place in Jeddah during the visit. The parties will discuss issues of further expansion of multilateral cooperation between the two countries.

In particular, the parties will discuss issues related to the development of green economy, high technologies and digitalization, innovation, small business and entrepreneurship.

As a result of the meeting, a large package of bilateral documents is expected to be signed.

The head of state will also meet with the heads of leading Saudi companies, influential international organizations – the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Islamic Development Bank.

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will also visit Mecca and Medina.
