Uzbek President proposes to establish a permanent consultation of heads of special services of Central Asian countries
Cholpon-Ata, The Gulf Observer: Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev made a proposal to establish a permanent consultation of security councils and heads of security services of Central Asian countries in the field of security.
“The strategic direction of our regional cooperation is the sphere of security.
I would like to emphasize that the security of the region is inseparable and, first of all, depends on how effectively our cooperation is established.
In this regard, we need to further develop practical cooperation in combating the traditional threats of extremism and terrorism, organized crime and illegal drug trafficking.
Our special attention is focused on the challenge of calls related to the growing illegal activity on the Internet.
Today, these threats have no bounds – they penetrate through mobile phones.
Unfortunately, recent tragic events in Uzbekistan have once again confirmed that there are destructive forces trying to disrupt our plans and create chaos and instability in our region.
In this regard, we support the proposal to establish regular consultations of the heads of security councils and special services of the countries of the region in all these areas,” the head of state said.
