Uzbekistan’s President Praises Dynamic Growth in Cultural and Humanitarian Ties with Türkiye
Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, warmly welcomed a high-level delegation from the Republic of Türkiye, led by the Minister of Culture and Tourism, Mehmet Nuri Ersoy. During the meeting, Minister Ersoy conveyed the sincere greetings and best wishes of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to President Mirziyoyev.
The discussions centered on deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Türkiye, with a particular focus on enhancing cooperation in the cultural, humanitarian, and tourism sectors. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the current state of interstate relations, highlighting the impressive growth in mutual trade and investment, as well as the increasing volume of cargo transportation, business activities, and tourist exchanges. The regular operation of more than 90 flights per week between the two countries was noted as a significant factor in bolstering these ties.
President Mirziyoyev and Minister Ersoy underscored the importance of continuing the intensive cultural and humanitarian exchanges that have strengthened bilateral relations. They emphasized the need to adopt a comprehensive roadmap to guide future cooperation, including the establishment of institutional mechanisms for practical collaboration.
Key priorities discussed included organizing national culture and cinema days, promoting joint artistic projects, protecting and preserving cultural heritage, and unlocking the tourism potential of both nations. The leaders reiterated their commitment to accelerating these initiatives, recognizing their vital role in furthering the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Türkiye.
