Việt Nam Seeks to Enhance Semiconductor and AI Cooperation with RoK: PM Chính

Seoul, The Gulf Observer: Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính had a productive working lunch with experts and scientists from the Republic of Korea (RoK) specializing in semiconductor and artificial intelligence (AI) on Monday. During the meeting, he expressed his aspiration for these experts to share their invaluable experience and expertise to foster rapid and sustainable development of these pivotal industries in Việt Nam.

The participants commended Việt Nam’s strategic focus on innovation, science, and technology, particularly in semiconductor and AI. They emphasized the need for substantial investment and the cultivation of high-quality human resources, alongside the immediate execution of specific, targeted projects.

To support this developmental trajectory, the experts recommended the establishment of systematic and concrete policies and mechanisms for training human resources in these industries. They highlighted the necessity of leveraging both local talent and the intelligence and resources of the Vietnamese diaspora, as well as international resources, including those from the RoK.

The RoK, with its rich experience, resources, infrastructure, and extensive network of experts, scientists, and research and production facilities, expressed its readiness to collaborate with Việt Nam through specific projects in the semiconductor and AI sectors.

Prime Minister Chính called upon the Korean experts and scientists to continue offering their insights to help Việt Nam develop effective incentive mechanisms and competitive strategies to attract investment and human resources. He emphasized the importance of infrastructure development for semiconductor and AI industries, cooperation in high-quality human resources training, and smart governance. Additionally, he underscored the need to mobilize resources for the development of these industries and related ecosystems, with a special focus on applications in public healthcare as a priority area requiring significant advancements.

During his official visit, Prime Minister Chính plans to propose to RoK leaders the signing of an intergovernmental cooperation agreement aimed at advancing the semiconductor and AI industries in Việt Nam.
