Vietnam Launches Largest-Ever Domestic Bulk Carrier from Hải Phòng Port
Hải Phòng, The Gulf Observer: In a momentous occasion for Vietnam’s maritime industry, Nam Triều Shipbuilding Co Ltd unveiled the largest-ever made-in-Vietnam bulk carrier in the northern port city of Hải Phòng on Saturday.
Named the Trường Minh Dream 01, this impressive vessel boasts a Deadweight Tonnage (DWT) of 65,000 and stands as a testament to the skill and expertise of Vietnamese engineers and workers. Constructed under the watchful eye of Japanese NK Registration, the ship represents a significant achievement for the Vietnamese shipbuilding sector.
Measuring an impressive 199.99 meters in length, the Trường Minh Dream 01 was meticulously designed by the Vietnam Shipbuilding Engineering Company (Visec) in collaboration with Bluetech Finland Ltd, a renowned specialist in cargo ship design.
Nguyễn Văn Chí, Director of Đông Bắc Shipping Industry JSC, the vessel’s operator, highlighted its cutting-edge features. He noted that the Trường Minh Dream 01 belongs to the most modern class of its kind, boasting superior attributes in terms of resistance, propulsion efficiency, fuel consumption, and carbon emissions.
Moreover, Chí emphasized that the ship meets the stringent requirements set by port administrations in key regions such as the United States, Europe, and Australia, underscoring its adherence to international standards of quality and safety.
The launch of the Trường Minh Dream 01 signifies a significant milestone for Vietnam’s shipbuilding industry and reinforces the nation’s position as a competitive player in the global maritime sector.
