Vietnam Prioritizes and Cherishes Traditional-Neighborly Bonds with Cambodia
Hanoi, The Gulf Observer: Vietnam consistently values and prioritizes the continuous consolidation and strengthening of the enduring, friendly, and traditional neighborly ties, along with comprehensive cooperation with Cambodia, for the mutual benefit of both nations and the advancement of peace, stability, cooperation, and development in the region and globally.
Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai conveyed this commitment during the ceremony commemorating the 45th anniversary of the victory in defending the southwestern border and defeating the Pol Pot genocidal regime (January 7, 1979 – January 7, 2024) held in Hanoi.
The event, jointly organized by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations, and the People’s Committee of Hanoi, saw the presence of President Vo Van Thuong.
Deputy Prime Minister Khai drew inspiration from Vietnamese folk verses, stating, “The Mekong River still flows for thousands of years, the friendship never fades.”
He expressed confidence that the Vietnam-Cambodia relationship would continue evolving to new heights, echoing the aspirations of both nations’ peoples and the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the independence and freedom of the two peoples.
