Việtnam Reaffirms Commitment to Independence, Peace, and Multilateral Cooperation at Global Gateway Forum in Brussels

Brussels, The Gulf Observer: Deputy Prime Minister Bùi Thanh Sơn reaffirmed Việtnam’s steadfast commitment to maintaining independence, acting responsibly, and fostering substantive cooperation with all international partners to safeguard national interests and contribute to global peace, stability, and prosperity.
He made the remarks while addressing the high-level session on global affairs during the 2nd Global Gateway Forum in Brussels, Belgium, on the afternoon of October 9 (local time).
Speaking on Việtnam’s approach to navigating the evolving global geopolitical and geo-economic landscape, Deputy PM Sơn emphasized that the country consistently pursues the goal of preserving peace and stability as the foundation for sustainable national development.
He reiterated that Việtnam adheres to a foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, diversification, and multilateralisation of international relations—striving to be a friend, trusted partner, and responsible member of the international community.
The Deputy PM highlighted Việtnam’s focus on green growth, deep international integration, and market diversification, leveraging opportunities from science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation to create new growth drivers. He noted that Việtnam is enhancing resilience against global fluctuations, expanding partnerships across all sectors, and prioritizing science and technology investment. The nation has identified 11 strategic technologies to strengthen national autonomy, with the aim of becoming a modern industrialized country by 2030 and achieving high-income status by 2045.
Sơn underscored that Việtnam will continue to promote multilateral cooperation, uphold international law and the UN Charter, and actively contribute to peacekeeping, sustainable development, and the safeguarding of maritime and aviation security, safety, and freedom.
