Vietnam Voices Deep Concern Over Escalating Middle East Conflict

Hanoi, The Gulf Observer: Vietnam has called on all relevant parties to immediately cease military operations, particularly attacks on nuclear facilities, in light of recent escalations in the Middle East. The call was made by Phạm Thu Hằng, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam, during a press briefing.

Responding to media inquiries regarding the U.S. military strikes on several Iranian nuclear sites earlier that day (Việt Nam time), the spokesperson expressed deep concern over the rising and complex conflict in the region.

“Việt Nam is deeply concerned about the escalating and complex conflict in the Middle East, which poses a serious threat to the lives and safety of civilians, as well as to regional and global peace and stability,” she stated.

Việt Nam urged all involved parties to resume dialogue and resolve disputes through peaceful means, in strict adherence to international law, particularly the United Nations Charter. The spokesperson emphasized the importance of respecting national sovereignty, territorial integrity, international humanitarian law, and the safeguards stipulated by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

MoFA Activates Emergency Plans to Protect Citizens in Affected Areas

In response to rising tensions, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) of Vietnam has taken proactive measures to ensure the safety of Vietnamese nationals residing in or traveling through Israel, Iran, and surrounding regions.

The MoFA has been working in close coordination with relevant domestic authorities and diplomatic missions in Israel and Iran to monitor the situation and execute emergency response protocols. According to updates from the Vietnamese embassies in both countries, no Vietnamese casualties have been reported as of now.

Given the deteriorating security environment, the MoFA has directed its embassies to collaborate with local authorities, international organizations, and the diplomatic corps to facilitate the safe evacuation of citizens from conflict-affected or high-risk areas. Vietnamese nationals still residing in Israel and Iran have been advised to relocate to safer zones or consider departing to third countries en route to Việt Nam.

The Vietnamese diplomatic missions have maintained regular contact with citizens, and coordination is ongoing with domestic agencies to prepare for potential evacuations in the coming days.

The MoFA has also instructed its missions to remain on high alert, maintain close contact with Vietnamese communities abroad, and issue timely advisories. Citizens are urged to remain calm, follow safety protocols issued by host governments, and stay informed via official communication channels.
