Vietnamese Leaders Congratulate Donald Trump on Assumption of U.S. Presidency

Hanoi, The Gulf Observer: Donald Trump officially assumed office as the 47th President of the United States, Vietnamese leaders extended their congratulations and reaffirmed the importance of the bilateral relationship.

General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee Tô Lâm, State President Lương Cường, and Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính sent letters of congratulations, emphasizing that Vietnam regards the U.S. as a partner of strategic importance.

In their messages, the leaders expressed confidence that under President Trump’s leadership, Vietnam-U.S. relations would continue to flourish. They highlighted mutual respect for independence, sovereignty, and political systems as the foundation for bilateral cooperation, contributing to peace, stability, and sustainable development in the region and the world.

The leaders also noted the significance of the ongoing milestones in the partnership, including the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations (1995-2025) and the second anniversary of the Vietnam-U.S. Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2025.

Additionally, Vice President Võ Thị Ánh Xuân sent a congratulatory letter to U.S. Vice President James David Vance, reaffirming the commitment to strengthening ties between the two nations.

These gestures of goodwill underscore Vietnam’s dedication to fostering a robust and mutually beneficial partnership with the United States.
