Vietnam’s Deputy Minister of Education and Training Leads Delegation to Enhance Collaboration with Russia
Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: Deputy Minister of Education and Training, Hoàng Minh Sơn, is spearheading a delegation on a significant working visit to Russia from April 15-20, aimed at bolstering educational and training cooperation between the two nations. The delegation’s itinerary includes pivotal engagements with Russian counterparts to explore avenues for deepening collaboration in various educational domains.
During a productive meeting held on April 16, Deputy Minister Sơn and his delegation convened with officials from Russia’s Ministry of Science and Higher Education, led by Deputy Minister Konstantin Mogilevskyi. The discussions encompassed the negotiation of a new agreement delineating education and training cooperation, the augmentation of activities associated with the Puskin Institute of Russian Language (HFIRL) in Vietnam, establishment of a university alliance between Vietnam and Russia, and avenues for research collaboration.
Of particular significance was the Russian side’s affirmation of considering the provision of scholarships for Vietnamese students, particularly in fields such as science, technology, and information technology, reflecting a shared commitment to fostering academic exchange and capacity-building initiatives.
In reciprocity, Deputy Minister Sơn announced Vietnam’s intent to award 75 scholarships to Russian students in the year 2024, underscoring the nation’s dedication to nurturing academic excellence and fostering cross-cultural understanding.
The delegation’s agenda also included visits to esteemed educational institutions in Russia, including the National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE) and the Moscow Aviation Institute (MAI), providing an invaluable opportunity to explore potential areas of collaboration and exchange.
In a bid to strengthen ties with the Vietnamese diaspora and promote cultural exchange, the delegation engaged in a lively exchange with Vietnamese students currently studying in Russia, fostering a sense of community and solidarity amongst the overseas Vietnamese student population.
