Vietnam’s Party Chief Tô Lâm to Visit US, Attend Inaugural Board of Peace for Gaza Meeting
Hanoi, The Gulf Observer: Tô Lâm, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Việtnam, will undertake a working visit to the United States from February 18 to 20 to attend the inaugural meeting of the Board of Peace for Gaza.
The visit is being made at the invitation of Donald Trump, President of the United States and Founding Chairman of the Board of Peace for Gaza, according to a communiqué issued by the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Earlier, on January 16, 2026, President Trump sent an official letter inviting General Secretary Tô Lâm and Việt Nam to participate in the Board of Peace initiative. The initiative seeks to mobilize international support to promote a sustainable and peaceful resolution to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine in the Gaza Strip.
Party General Secretary Tô Lâm formally accepted the invitation, reaffirming Việt Nam’s commitment to supporting multilateral efforts aimed at fostering dialogue, stability, and long-term peace in the region.
The participation of Việtnam in the Board underscores its active and responsible role within the international community in addressing global security challenges and contributing to peaceful conflict resolution initiatives.
