Washington, D.C., The Gulf Observer: President of the United States Donald J. Trump has officially announced that he will host President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan of Armenia at the White House for a Historic Peace Summit on Friday, marking a significant breakthrough in efforts to end decades of conflict between the two South Caucasus nations.

In a post on his Truth Social media platform, President Trump stated:

“I look forward to hosting the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, and the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, at the White House tomorrow for a Historic Peace Summit.”

Referring to the long-standing hostility between Armenia and Azerbaijan — a conflict that has claimed thousands of lives over the years — President Trump emphasized the gravity and unprecedented nature of the upcoming summit.

“These two nations have been at war for many years, resulting in the deaths of thousands of people. Many leaders have tried to end the war, with no success, until now, thanks to ‘TRUMP’,” he said.

Trump revealed that his administration has been actively engaged in quiet diplomacy with both governments, paving the way for what is expected to be a landmark Peace Signing Ceremony on Friday at the White House. He praised both leaders for their courage and willingness to prioritize peace for the benefit of their nations.

“Tomorrow, President Aliyev and Prime Minister Pashinyan will join me at the White House for an official Peace Signing Ceremony,” Trump said. “The United States will also sign bilateral agreements with both countries to pursue economic opportunities together, so we can fully unlock the potential of the South Caucasus region.”

President Trump concluded by noting the historic and global importance of this diplomatic achievement, expressing pride in the leadership shown by Armenia and Azerbaijan.

“I am very proud of these courageous leaders for doing the right thing for the great people of Armenia and Azerbaijan. It will be a historic day for Armenia, Azerbaijan, the United States, and the world.”

The summit marks a rare and momentous step toward lasting peace and regional cooperation in the South Caucasus, with the White House set to become the stage for a potentially transformative agreement between two former adversaries.
