Zelensky thanks Saudi Crown Prince for UNGA vote
Riyadh, The Gulf Observer: Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, prime minister, made a phone call Saturday to President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.
Zelensky expressed, in the beginning of the phone call, his congratulations to the Crown Prince for his appointment as the prime minister of the Kingdom, and conveyed his thanks and appreciation to the Kingdom for its vote for the UNGA resolution.
The Crown Prince stressed that the Kingdom’s vote for the resolution emanates from its commitment to the deep rooted principles in the UN charter and international law, and its commitment to the respect of state sovereignty and the principles of good neighborliness, and resolving conflicts by peaceful means.
The Ukraine president expressed his thanks and appreciation for Crown Prince’s readiness to continue his mediation efforts aiming for the resolution of the crisis.
The president also expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Crown Prince for the Saudi leadership’s decision to offer an additional humanitarian aid package for Ukraine in the amount of ($400 million) which will contribute to alleviating the suffering of Ukrainian citizens at the wake of the crisis.
Zelensky emphasized that these humanitarian aid initiatives are evidence of the Crown Prince’s keenness to alleviate the human suffering of the Ukrainian people, which they will never forget and which proves the Kingdom’s friendship to Ukraine.
The Crown Prince emphasized that the Kingdom’s position of supporting everything that will contribute to de-escalation, and the Kingdom’s readiness to continue the efforts of mediation.
