Ziyo Art Uzbek Language Center Unveils New Building in Brooklyn, New York

New York, The Gulf Observer: A momentous occasion unfolded in Brooklyn, New York, as the opening ceremony of the new building of Ziyo Art Uzbek Language Center, operating under the diaspora organization Mahalla USA, captivated the hearts of attendees. The event, held at the center’s new premises, showcased a commitment to nurturing Uzbek language and literature among the diaspora community living in the United States.
Ziyo Art Uzbek Language Center, a flagship initiative of the Mahalla USA Public Association, first opened its doors in Brooklyn on September 19, 2020. The primary objective was to provide comprehensive education to the children of compatriots, instilling a deep appreciation for Uzbek language, literature, and national values.
The educational spectrum at the center encompasses a diverse curriculum, including Uzbek language and literature, etiquette, the world around us, computer literacy, fine arts, religion, mathematics, and sports clubs specializing in chess, sambo, and wrestling. Catering to children aged 6 to 15, the center conducts classes on weekdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The courses are facilitated by qualified teachers selected through a competitive process, utilizing specialized educational materials sourced from Uzbekistan.
The new building of Ziyo Art Uzbek Language Center boasts 10 purpose-designed rooms for various training activities, spanning an impressive total area of 500 square meters. At present, the center accommodates 120-150 children each month, fostering a vibrant and dynamic learning environment.
During the opening ceremony, Abdumalik Akhmedov, President of the Mahalla USA Public Association, delivered an inspiring address, emphasizing the importance of cultural preservation and educational empowerment within the diaspora community.
The event witnessed the presence of esteemed guests, including representatives from the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in New York, senators of New York City, congressmen, local authorities, the Head of Uzbekistan Sambo Federation, leaders, and activists from Uzbek diaspora societies in other states.
