13th ASEAN Schools Games

Central Beach City, The Gulf Observer: The national flags of 10 member countries were proudly raised at the official flag hoisting ceremony today, marking the beginning of the 13th ASEAN Schools Games (ASG). This prestigious event, held in the vibrant central beach city, stands as the largest regional sports gathering for school students.

The week-long competition, which commenced with a basketball event on May 31, will see 1,300 athletes and coaches competing in six sports: swimming, athletics, badminton, basketball, pencak silat, and vovinam.

The official flame of the games was ceremoniously carried in a torch relay to the opening ceremony at the Tiên Sơn Sports Complex. This symbolic flame will continue to burn brightly until the conclusion of the games on June 7.

In addition to the intense sports competitions, school students, coaches, and participants will have the opportunity to explore the natural beauty and attractions of the beach city, one of the most popular and liveable destinations in central Việt Nam. Highlights include the chance to see the red-shanked douc langurs, the mascot of the 13th ASEAN Schools Games, in the Sơn Trà Nature Reserve.
