Sultan Qaboos Naval Academy Launches Virtual Reality Laboratory

Muscat, The Gulf Observer: The Sultan Qaboos Naval Academy (SQNA) today inaugurated its state-of-the-art Virtual Reality (VR) Laboratory, underscoring the Royal Navy of Oman’s (RNO) commitment to adopting modern technologies and enhancing its naval training programs.
The inauguration ceremony was held under the auspices of Rear Admiral Saif Nasser Al Rahbi, Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman.
The event commenced with a detailed briefing on VR technology, highlighting its significance in integrating the latest interactive tools to improve the educational and training processes at the Academy. Following the briefing, Rear Admiral Al Rahbi, along with attendees, viewed a visual presentation showcasing the development stages of the VR laboratory and received an overview of the advanced equipment and cutting-edge technologies employed within the facility.
The launch of the VR Laboratory represents a significant step in the RNO’s efforts to modernize its training infrastructure and equip its personnel with skills aligned with contemporary naval operations.
