Turkmenistan, Austria Discuss Expanding Cultural and Humanitarian Cooperation

Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: A meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan on December 15, 2025, between Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Myahri Byashimova and Neda Berger, Head of the Austrian–Turkmen Society.

During the talks, the two sides noted the productive nature of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Austria, particularly in the cultural and humanitarian spheres. Both parties emphasized the steady development of bilateral ties and the positive outcomes achieved through joint initiatives.

In this context, the significant personal contribution of Neda Berger to further strengthening relations between the two countries was highlighted. The sides also discussed plans and projects for 2026, with an emphasis on the active participation of the Austrian–Turkmen Society in promoting bilateral cooperation.

At the meeting, gratitude was expressed to Berger for her active involvement in events dedicated to the International Year of Peace and Trust, the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Permanent Neutrality, as well as the International Day of Neutrality.

Neda Berger also warmly received congratulations from the Turkmen side on the occasion of her recent ceremonial awards, reaffirming the spirit of mutual respect and partnership between Turkmenistan and Austria.
