Tajikistan and European Union Discuss Cooperation on Legal Aid and Civil Registration Reforms

Dushanbe, The Gulf Observer: The Minister of Justice of Tajikistan, Muzaffar Ashuriyon, and the Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Tajikistan, Radoslaw Darski, this week held discussions on key areas of mutual cooperation, according to media reports.

The meeting focused on the development of a system of free legal aid in Tajikistan, as well as ongoing and planned reforms to the country’s civil status registration system. Both sides reviewed progress to date and explored opportunities for further collaboration aimed at strengthening access to justice and improving public administrative services.

The discussions reflected the shared commitment of Tajikistan and the European Union to supporting legal and institutional reforms that align with international standards and respond to the needs of citizens.

Both parties expressed satisfaction with the level and quality of cooperation between Tajikistan’s Ministry of Justice and the European Union, reaffirming their intention to continue constructive engagement in these priority areas.
