President Ilham Aliyev Signs Condolence Book at Iranian Embassy in Baku

Baku, The Gulf Observer: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev visited the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Baku on March 4 to offer his condolences following the passing of Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of Iran, as well as numerous civilians.
Upon his arrival at the embassy, President Aliyev was received by Mojtaba Demirchilou, Ambassador of Iran to Azerbaijan. During the visit, the Azerbaijani president signed the book of condolence to express his sympathy and solidarity with the people and leadership of Iran.
Following the signing ceremony, President Aliyev held a brief conversation with the Iranian ambassador. He noted that he would always fondly remember his meetings with Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei during his previous visits to Iran.
Ambassador Demirchilou expressed his gratitude to President Aliyev for visiting the embassy and extending condolences on behalf of the Azerbaijani state and people.
The visit reflected Azerbaijan’s gesture of sympathy and respect toward Iran during a period of national mourning.
