RCCI, Indonesian Ambassador Discuss Expanding Bilateral Trade and Investment Cooperation
Rawalpindi, The Gulf Observer: The Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) hosted Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Pakistan, H.E. Mr. Chandra W. Sukotjo, and his delegation for high-level discussions aimed at strengthening economic and commercial cooperation between Pakistan and Indonesia.
The Indonesian delegation received a warm welcome from RCCI President Usman Shaukat, Vice President Fahad Barlas, members of the Executive Committee, and representatives of the local business community.
During the meeting, both sides explored opportunities to deepen bilateral trade relations and enhance Pakistan’s exports to the Indonesian market. Discussions focused on promoting collaboration across a range of strategic sectors, including tourism, halal food, renewable energy, healthcare, agriculture, and digital innovation.
Ambassador Sukotjo encouraged Pakistani entrepreneurs and business leaders to participate in the 41st Trade Expo Indonesia, scheduled to take place from October 14 to 18, 2026, describing the event as an important platform for expanding business partnerships and exploring new market opportunities.
The Ambassador also highlighted recent improvements in Indonesia’s visa procedures for business travelers, noting that the simplified process would facilitate greater commercial engagement and strengthen people-to-people and business-to-business connections between the two countries.
RCCI leadership reaffirmed its commitment to promoting stronger economic ties with Indonesia and emphasized the importance of expanding trade, investment, and private-sector collaboration for mutual growth.
The meeting concluded with both sides expressing confidence that enhanced cooperation between Pakistan and Indonesia would contribute to increased bilateral trade, sustainable economic development, and shared prosperity for the two friendly nations.
