Azerbaijan FM Highlights TRIPP’s Role in Regional Connectivity and Economic Prosperity

Baku, The Gulf Observer: Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has highlighted the importance of strengthening regional connectivity, promoting economic growth and developing resilient supply chains through investments in the Trans-Caspian Trade Route and the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP).
Speaking at the event titled “Prosperity through Peace: Investing in the Trans-Caspian Trade Route and TRIPP,” organized by the United States Government on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, Bayramov outlined Azerbaijan’s vision of enhanced regional connectivity as a catalyst for economic development and new investment opportunities.
Particular emphasis was placed on TRIPP as an initiative linking connectivity, peacebuilding and prosperity. According to the minister, as one of the key outcomes of the historic Washington Summit, TRIPP is expected to establish unimpeded multimodal connectivity between mainland Azerbaijan and its Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, while strengthening wider regional transport links and contributing to lasting peace in the region.
Minister Bayramov expressed appreciation for the efforts of the United States in supporting the realization of the project and underscored TRIPP’s potential to contribute to regional energy connectivity and diversification.
The Azerbaijani foreign minister also highlighted the country’s ongoing investments in developing an integrated transport and logistics hub centered on the Baku Port and the Alat Free Economic Zone.
He stressed the importance of digitalization, efficient logistics and customs procedures, as well as coordinated efforts among regional partners. In this regard, Bayramov pointed to successful coordination roadmaps developed with Kazakhstan, Türkiye and Georgia as examples of effective regional cooperation.
The minister emphasized that enhanced connectivity and coordinated infrastructure development can create new opportunities for trade, investment and economic cooperation across the region.
