President Ilham Aliyev Receives Neuberger Berman CEO in Baku

Baku, The Gulf Observer: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received George Walker, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Neuberger Berman, one of the world’s leading independent investment management firms.
During the meeting, President Aliyev and Walker recalled their previous meeting in New York last year and exchanged views on the development of investment cooperation.
President Aliyev noted that the signing in February this year of the “Charter on Strategic Partnership between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the United States of America” had opened a new chapter in relations between Azerbaijan and the United States.
The discussions focused on the current state and prospects of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Neuberger Berman, emerging opportunities in global investment markets, projects of mutual interest and prospects for expanding the long-term partnership.
The sides also highlighted the fruitful cooperation between the State Oil Fund of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) and Neuberger Berman, which has continued since 2016. They reviewed the results of the partnership in areas including private equity and private debt, as well as other investment fields, and discussed opportunities for cooperation on new projects.
Founded in New York in 1939, Neuberger Berman is an independent investment management firm managing $613 billion in assets. Its private markets platform manages more than $170 billion in investment commitments across a portfolio comprising over 10,400 companies worldwide.
