Türkiye Applauds UN Security Council’s Resolution for Gaza Ceasefire During Ramadan
Ankara, The Gulf Observer: Türkiye has expressed its appreciation for the United Nations Security Council’s adoption of a resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza during the sacred Muslim month of Ramadan. The Turkish Foreign Ministry conveyed its stance in a statement on Monday, welcoming the resolution as a positive step towards addressing the ongoing crisis in the region.
Ministry spokesperson Oncu Keceli emphasized Türkiye’s view that the UN Security Council’s resolution, which also includes provisions for humanitarian access to Gaza, holds significant importance in mitigating the escalating situation. Ramadan, a month of fasting and reflection for Muslims worldwide, concludes on or around April 9, and there are optimistic expectations that any ceasefire established during this period may extend beyond its conclusion.
