Abdullah bin Zayed Discusses Middle East Developments with Antony Blinken

Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, held a phone call with Antony Blinken, Secretary of State of the United States of America, to discuss recent developments in the Middle East and efforts to achieve a comprehensive and sustainable ceasefire. The conversation also focused on improving the humanitarian response to the urgent needs of civilians in the Gaza Strip.

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed reaffirmed the UAE’s support for U.S. efforts, in collaboration with key international partners, to secure a sustainable ceasefire that ensures the protection of all civilians. He emphasized that the worsening humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip requires urgent, coordinated, and sustained efforts to address the immediate needs of civilians and deliver essential humanitarian aid.

Sheikh Abdullah highlighted the importance of reducing tensions, countering extremism, and halting escalating violence in the region. He stressed the necessity of a serious political pathway to resume negotiations aimed at achieving comprehensive peace, grounded in the two-state solution.

Additionally, Sheikh Abdullah addressed the developments in Sudan and their humanitarian repercussions, underscoring the need for international attention and response.

The call underscored the commitment of the UAE and the U.S. to work together to promote stability, peace, and humanitarian assistance in the region.
