Abu Dhabi to Host Second Edition of International Dialogue of Civilisations & Tolerance Conference in 2025

Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: The second edition of the International Dialogue of Civilisations & Tolerance Conference is set to take place from 19th to 21st February 2025 at the Abu Dhabi Energy Centre.

Held under the patronage of Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, the conference is organised by the Emirates Scholar Centre for Research and Studies in partnership with the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence. It is supported by the Abu Dhabi Convention and Exhibition Bureau under the Department of Culture and Tourism.

Themed “Empowering Youth for a Tolerant Future,” the event will focus on the vital role of youth in fostering tolerance and global coexistence. Esteemed speakers from government, academia, and international organisations will address topics such as cultural exchange, the role of education in promoting coexistence, and embracing cultural diversity to build cohesive societies.

Dr. Abdulla Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Consultative Council and Chancellor of the Board of Trustees at the Emirates Scholar Centre, emphasized the UAE’s leadership in promoting tolerance:
“Empowering youth is not merely about preparing them for the future but about instilling profound humanitarian values in their hearts and minds, enabling them to become advocates of peace and builders of bridges between cultures and civilisations,” he stated.

The conference will feature over 100 speakers from various sectors, including government, diplomacy, academia, religion, and culture. Over 5,000 participants are expected to attend, and the agenda includes 120 research presentations and 25 interactive workshops. Highlights include sessions on “Youth Initiatives to Promote Cultural Coexistence” and “Global Partnerships for Empowering Youth for Tolerance.”

By focusing on youth-led tolerance initiatives, the conference aligns with the UAE’s commitment to nurturing leaders who champion mutual respect and understanding. It promises to be a significant platform for advancing global dialogue on tolerance and inclusivity.
