Amir of Qatar, Czech President hold official talks session.
Prague, The Gulf Observer: The Amir of Qatar, HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, and the President of the Czech Republic, Milos Zeman, on Wednesday held an official talk session at the presidential residence in Prague Castle, Czech Republic.
At the outset of the session, the Czech President welcomed HH the Amir and the accompanying delegation, stressing that His Highness’ visit is an important step in developing bilateral relations between the two countries in various fields.
He pointed out that he is looking forward to further joint cooperation efforts to develop bilateral cooperation in various fields.
For his part, HH the Amir expressed happiness to be in Prague in light of his state visit to the Czech Republic.
HH the Amir thanked the Czech president, the government of the Czech Republic and its friendly people for the warm reception and hospitality, pointing to the strength of the Qatari-Czech relations and their continuous development and the joint cooperation in various sectors.
During the session, they discussed cooperation relations between the two countries and ways to enhance and develop them, especially in the trade, industry, energy, and investment fields, in addition to exchanging views on a number of regional and international issues of mutual concern.
HH the Amir and the president of the Czech Republic also witnessed the signing ceremony of the joint declaration between the two countries on mutual support to complete the bilateral investment agreement and the signing of an agreement on economic, commercial, and technical cooperation between both governments.
The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs H E Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, the Chief of Amiri Diwan H E Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, and the Minister of Commerce and Industry H E Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al-Thani, attended the talks session.
On the Czech side, it was attended by the Minister of Transport, Martin Kupka; the Minister of Finance, Zbynek Stanjura; the Minister of Industry and Trade, Jozef Sikela; and a number of senior officials.
The Czech Republic President later hosted a luncheon banquet in honor of HH the Amir and the accompanying delegation.
HH the Amir and the Czech President held a bilateral meeting, in which they discussed aspects of developing relations between the two countries and issues of mutual interest.
