Arab and Muslim Leaders Pledge Support for Palestinian Rights and Lebanon’s Stability

Riyadh, The Gulf Observer: Leaders from Arab and Muslim nations, convening at an extraordinary summit in Riyadh on Monday, issued a closing statement underscoring their commitment to the Palestinian cause and pledging strong support for the Palestinian people’s pursuit of their inalienable national rights.

The summit, centered on addressing Israel’s wars in Gaza and Lebanon, saw participants affirm essential Palestinian rights, including the right to freedom, the establishment of an independent and sovereign state with East Jerusalem as its capital, the right of return for refugees, compensation in line with international resolutions, and the right to resist any efforts that deny or undermine these rights.

The leaders reiterated their support for Palestinian sovereignty over occupied East Jerusalem, emphasizing that Jerusalem is a “red line” for Arab and Muslim countries. They pledged unified efforts to preserve the Arab and Islamic identity of East Jerusalem and safeguard the sanctity of Islamic and Christian holy sites there.

In addition, the summit statement expressed unwavering support for Lebanon, emphasizing the importance of the country’s security, stability, sovereignty, and the well-being of its citizens amidst ongoing regional challenges.
