Australian Senate President Visits Trang An Eco-Tourism Site in Vietnam
Ninh Bình, The Gulf Observer: President of the Australian Senate, Sue Lines, and her entourage visited the Trang An eco-tourism site in Ninh Bình Province on Sunday as part of her ongoing official visit to Vietnam. The Tràng An landscape complex, located approximately 100 kilometers south of Hanoi, is a renowned World Cultural and Natural Heritage Site.
Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly, Nguyễn Thị Thanh, welcomed Senator Lines and expressed her pleasure in hosting the delegation. She hoped that the visit to Tràng An would leave a lasting impression on the Australian senator and her team.
Senator Lines described the tour of Trang An as a highlight of her visit to Vietnam, praising the collaboration between Australian agencies and Ninh Bình Province in enhancing the locality’s Provincial Governance and Public Administration Performance Index (PAPI).
During a boat tour of the site, Senator Lines admired the natural beauty of Tràng An, noting its majestic mountain system and the warm hospitality of the locals. She commended Ninh Bình’s approach to tourism development, which has successfully attracted a significant number of visitors, particularly from Australia. Senator Lines expressed her hope that more Australians would visit Ninh Bình in the near future.
The Tràng An Landscape Complex, recognized as a World Cultural and Natural Heritage Site in 2014, covers 12,252 hectares across 20 communes and wards in five districts and cities within Ninh Bình. The site includes the Hoa Lư Ancient Capital, the Tràng An-Tam Cốc-Bích Động Scenic Landscape, and the Hoa Lư Special-Use Forest.
