Azerbaijan and Morocco Explore Enhanced Cooperation on Literacy and Children’s Affairs

Baku, The Gulf Observer: Aynur Sofiyeva, Deputy Chairperson of Azerbaijan’s State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs, held a meeting in Baku with the visiting delegation of the Thematic Group in Charge of Evaluating Literacy Programs at the House of Representatives of the Parliament of Morocco.
During the meeting, Deputy Chairperson Sofiyeva highlighted Morocco’s pivotal role as a strategic bridge between Africa and Europe, commending the country’s active participation in regional and global cooperation frameworks. She praised Morocco’s comprehensive reforms, large-scale infrastructure projects, and achievements in the field of alternative energy, noting their significant impact on enhancing social welfare and promoting sustainable development.
Sofiyeva emphasized the solid foundation of friendship and mutual understanding upon which bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Morocco are built, affirming that these ties have significantly deepened in recent years.
In particular, she pointed to key high-level visits that have advanced bilateral cooperation, including the visit of Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, to Rabat, and the visit of Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Hasnaa to Baku.
The two sides discussed prospects for expanding collaboration in areas related to children’s affairs, combating illiteracy, and addressing other pressing social issues. They also explored opportunities for joint initiatives under international cooperation frameworks, particularly in protecting children’s rights and promoting inclusive education.
The meeting underscored the mutual commitment of both countries to strengthening ties and working together to address shared challenges in the fields of education, social welfare, and child protection.
