Azerbaijan and Serbia Sign Multiple Cooperation Agreements in Belgrade Ceremony

Belgrade, The Gulf Observer: A formal ceremony for the exchange of bilateral documents between Azerbaijan and Serbia was held in Belgrade with the participation of Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and Aleksandar Vučić, President of the Republic of Serbia.
The ceremony marked the signing and exchange of several agreements and memoranda aimed at strengthening cooperation across key sectors including energy, economy, food security, culture, sports, media, and healthcare.
Agreements on Food Security and Energy
Azerbaijan’s Minister of Finance Sahil Babayev and Serbia’s Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Dragan Glamočić exchanged the “Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Republic of Serbia on Cooperation in the Field of Food Security.”
In the energy sector, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov and Serbia’s Minister of Mining and Energy Dubravka Đedović exchanged the agreement on the design, construction and operation of a gas-turbine power plant in Serbia.
Expanding Economic and Media Cooperation
Mikayil Jabbarov and Serbia’s First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Adrijana Mesarović also exchanged a Memorandum of Understanding between the respective Ministries of Economy.
Additionally, Sahil Babayev and Serbia’s Minister of Information and Telecommunications Boris Bratina exchanged a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in media and communications between Azerbaijan’s Media Development Agency and Serbia’s Ministry of Information and Telecommunications.
Cultural, Sports and Healthcare Partnerships
Azerbaijan’s Minister of Culture Adil Karimli and Serbia’s Minister of Culture Nikola Selaković exchanged a Memorandum of Cooperation in the Field of Culture for 2026–2030.
In the field of sports, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov and Serbia’s Minister of Sports Zoran Gajić signed a Memorandum of Understanding to enhance bilateral cooperation.
Furthermore, Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Serbia Kamil Khasiyev and Director of Serbia’s National Health Insurance Fund Sanja Radojević exchanged a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in health insurance systems between Azerbaijan’s State Agency for Mandatory Health Insurance and Serbia’s National Health Insurance Fund.
The ceremony underscored the growing strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Serbia, reflecting mutual commitment to deepening bilateral ties and expanding collaboration across diverse sectors of shared interest.
