Azerbaijan and Türkiye Discuss Environmental Cooperation and Climate Agenda in Baku

Baku, The Gulf Observer: Azerbaijan’s Prime Minister Ali Asadov met with Türkiye’s Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum on March 13 to discuss bilateral cooperation and key international environmental initiatives.
During the meeting, the two sides highlighted the significance of the 13th Global Baku Forum and commended the organization of panel discussions dedicated to the COP process and the broader climate agenda held on the sidelines of the event.
The discussions also focused on expanding cooperation between Azerbaijan and Türkiye in areas such as environmental protection, waste management, and joint efforts to combat climate change.
Both sides emphasized the importance of the upcoming 13th session of the United Nations World Urban Forum (WUF13), scheduled to take place in Baku in 2026, noting that the event will provide an important platform to promote sustainable urban development and international collaboration on urbanization challenges.
