Azerbaijan, Croatia Strengthen Bilateral Ties through Political Consultations
Baku, The Gulf Observer: The Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Croatia conducted another round of political consultations, fostering diplomatic discussions to enhance bilateral cooperation, as reported by Azerbaijani media.
Chaired by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Fariz Rzayev, and State Secretary for Political Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia, Frano Matušić, the meeting delved into various aspects of the strategic partnership between the two nations. Discussions encompassed an assessment of the current state and future prospects of cooperation within international organizations, exploring collaborative opportunities across political, economic, and humanitarian domains, and evaluating strategic energy and transport projects led by Azerbaijan.
The diplomatic dialogue also touched upon the preparation process for the upcoming 29th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), scheduled to be hosted by Azerbaijan in November 2024. Both parties acknowledged that this prestigious event would create significant opportunities to deepen the existing strategic cooperation.
Deputy FM Fariz Rzayev provided insights into the post-conflict period in the region, highlighting the reconciliation efforts between Azerbaijan and Armenia, Azerbaijan’s initiatives for regional peace, the persistent threat of landmines, ongoing demining operations, restoration works in the Azerbaijani liberated territories, and potential collaboration in these areas.
The political consultations extended to discussions on regional and international issues of mutual concern, reaffirming the commitment of Azerbaijan and Croatia to strengthen diplomatic ties and explore avenues for shared growth and development.
