Baku, The Gulf Observer: Azerbaijan has sent another shipment of humanitarian aid to Ukraine, reinforcing its ongoing commitment to support the country’s reconstruction efforts amid the ongoing war.
The shipment, which consists of essential electrical equipment, was dispatched from the Sumgayit Technologies Park. According to Alasgar Hasanov, a department head at the Ministry of Energy, the initial consignment includes electrical cables, wires, and transformers. These supplies, requested by Ukrainian authorities, are intended to facilitate the restoration of stable electricity in war-affected regions.
This latest initiative aligns with an order signed by President Ilham Aliyev on February 5, 2025, allocating one million dollars in manat equivalent to finance the shipment. Azerbaijan’s humanitarian and reconstruction aid to Ukraine has now exceeded $40 million.
By 2025, Azerbaijan will have delivered nearly 120 transformers and transformer substations, around 70 generators, and over 3.3 million meters of cables and wires to Ukraine. These contributions underscore Azerbaijan’s steadfast support in helping Ukraine recover from the severe disruptions caused by the conflict.
