Azerbaijan, Kenya Explore Opportunities to Enhance Interparliamentary Dialogue

Baku, The Gulf Observer: As part of his official visit to the Republic of Kenya, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jeyhun Bayramov, held a meeting with Amason Jeffah Kingi, Speaker of the Kenyan Senate.
The discussions focused on the current state of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Kenya, as well as opportunities for further development, particularly in light of the positive momentum achieved over the past two decades.
Both sides emphasized the vital role of interparliamentary cooperation in strengthening bilateral ties. In particular, they highlighted the importance of active engagement between friendship groups and relevant parliamentary committees in fostering mutual understanding and expanding cooperation across multiple sectors.

Speaker Kingi, in turn, lauded Azerbaijan’s increasing international profile, especially its leadership in hosting major global events. He cited the upcoming 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change and the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), scheduled to be held in Azerbaijan in 2026, as clear demonstrations of the country’s commitment to advancing critical global agendas.
