Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan Explore Urban Planning Cooperation Ahead of WUF13 in Baku

Baku, The Gulf Observer: Anar Guliyev, Chairman of the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture of Azerbaijan, held a meeting with Maksat Mamytkanov, Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to Azerbaijan, to discuss avenues for expanding bilateral cooperation.

During the meeting, both sides reviewed strategic partnership opportunities between Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan, with a particular focus on urban planning and architectural collaboration.

Guliyev highlighted Kyrgyzstan’s fraternal support for restoration and reconstruction projects in Garabagh and East Zangezur, noting the opening of a school building in the village of Khidirli in the Aghdam district this year as a key example of such assistance. He expressed confidence that joint initiatives with Kyrgyzstan would continue to develop successfully in the future.

The Azerbaijani official also extended an invitation to the Kyrgyz delegation to actively participate in the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), scheduled to be held in Baku in 2026, emphasizing the importance of international collaboration in advancing urban development and architectural projects.
