Azerbaijani and Turkish Presidents Reaffirm Strategic Alliance at ECO Summit

Khankendi, The Gulf Observer: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with President of the Republic of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on the sidelines of the 17th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), held in the city of Khankendi.

During the meeting, President Erdoğan commended the Government of Azerbaijan for the excellent organization of the high-level ECO Summit, which brought together leaders from across the region to discuss enhanced cooperation and shared development goals.

President Aliyev expressed his gratitude to the Turkish President for his presence at the Summit, underscoring the significance of Türkiye’s continued support and participation in regional affairs.

The two leaders praised the ongoing, dynamic development of the brotherly and strategic allied relations between Azerbaijan and Türkiye across all sectors. President Erdoğan reaffirmed that Türkiye stands firmly by Azerbaijan in all circumstances, a steadfast position that he emphasized has always been the case and will remain unchanged.

In response, President Aliyev thanked President Erdoğan for his remarks, stating that Azerbaijan, in turn, always stands by brotherly Türkiye during times of celebration and in moments of challenge.

The meeting also included an exchange of views on the future direction of bilateral cooperation and other matters of mutual interest, reflecting the deep-rooted ties and shared vision between the two nations.
