Belarusian President Lukashenko Arrives on Official Visit to Oman

Muscat, The Gulf Observer: President Aleksandr Lukashenko of the Republic of Belarus arrived in Muscat today for an official visit to the Sultanate of Oman. The visit, expected to last several days, will include key discussions with His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik on enhancing bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries.

The welcoming party at Royal Airport was led by Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, Oman’s Foreign Minister, who extended a warm welcome to President Lukashenko and his accompanying delegation. The Foreign Minister expressed his best wishes for the President’s stay and the success of the visit.

Alongside the Foreign Minister, other prominent Omani officials present at the airport included Abdulsalam Mohammed Al Murshidi, Chairman of the Oman Investment Authority; Hamoud Salim Al Tuwaih, Ambassador of Oman to the Russian Federation and non-resident Ambassador to Belarus; and Andrei Luchenok, Belarusian Ambassador to Oman, along with members of the Mission of Honour accompanying the Belarusian delegation.

The Belarusian President is accompanied by an official delegation comprising several senior officials, including Viktor Lukashenko, President of the Belarusian Olympic Committee and son of the President; Maxim Ryzhenkov, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Alexander Efimov, Minister of Industry; Anatoly Linevich, Minister of Agriculture and Food; and Sergei Terentiev, Non-resident Ambassador of Belarus to Oman.

Tomorrow, Sunday, an official reception ceremony will be held in honor of President Lukashenko at Al Alam Palace. Following the ceremony, an official session of talks will take place, chaired by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and President Lukashenko. The discussions are expected to focus on strengthening ties and exploring new avenues for cooperation in various sectors between Oman and Belarus.
