Brunei Sultan to Attend Royal Banquet Celebrating Silver Jubilee of Raja of Perlis’ Reign
Bandar Seri Begawan, The Gulf Observer: His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, will attend the Royal Banquet in conjunction with the Silver Jubilee Celebrations of the reign of His Royal Highness Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin ibni Almarhum Tuanku Syed Putra Jamalullail, the Raja of Perlis, on April 17 in Perlis, Malaysia.
His Majesty’s attendance at the historic occasion follows an official invitation from His Royal Highness Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin, Raja of Perlis. The Instrument of Invitation (Warkah Persilaan) was formally presented to His Majesty by Yang Amat Mulia Dato’ Seri Diraja Syed Badaruddin ibni Almarhum Tuanku Syed Putra Jamalullail, Tengku Syarif Bendahara Perlis, during an audience at Istana Nurul Iman on January 28.
In response, His Majesty conveyed his acceptance through an Official Reply (Warkah Balasan), which was personally delivered by the Chief of Adat Istiadat Negara, Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Indera Setia Diraja Sahibul Karib Pengiran Anak Haji Idris bin Pengiran Maharaja Lela Pengiran Muda Abdul Kahar, to His Royal Highness the Raja of Perlis at Istana Arau on March 24.
The Silver Jubilee marks 25 years of esteemed leadership by Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin, and His Majesty’s attendance underscores the close and longstanding ties between Brunei Darussalam and Malaysia, particularly with the state of Perlis.
