Bulgaria Backs U.S.-Ukraine Ceasefire Proposal for Lasting Peace

Sofia, The Gulf Observer: Bulgaria has expressed its support for the ceasefire agreement proposed by the United States and Ukraine in Jeddah. Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov took to the social media platform X to announce Bulgaria’s endorsement, calling the agreement an essential step towards achieving a comprehensive, just, and lasting peace for Ukraine.
The Prime Minister reiterated Bulgaria’s readiness to participate in the peace process alongside the U.S. and the EU, urging all parties involved to demonstrate political will for peace.
The ceasefire deal, formulated during discussions in Jeddah, stipulates a temporary 30-day ceasefire, contingent on Russia’s compliance. Ukraine emphasized that lasting peace cannot be achieved unless both sides honor the truce. In an official statement, President Volodymyr Zelensky welcomed the proposal and affirmed Ukraine’s commitment to the ceasefire, which would encompass front lines, air, sea, and energy strikes.
Bulgaria’s stance underscores its dedication to promoting stability and peace in the region, joining international efforts to facilitate a ceasefire and eventual resolution of the conflict.
