Bulgaria Ranks Among Global Leaders in Healthy Food Delivery, Glovo Reports

Sofia, The Gulf Observer: Bulgaria has emerged as one of the top countries in Southeast Europe for ordering healthy meals, according to a recent analysis by the global food delivery platform Glovo, released in conjunction with World Health Day on April 7.

The data places Bulgaria second in Southeast Europe and fifth worldwide in terms of the frequency of healthy food deliveries, showcasing a growing national preference for nutritious meal options via delivery services.

According to Glovo, this shift toward healthier eating habits is not just seasonal or tied to typical New Year’s resolutions. Notably, March 2024 recorded the highest volume of healthy food orders, with International Women’s Day (March 8) topping the list as the single busiest day of the year for nutritious food deliveries—highlighting the day’s increasing association with wellness and healthy living.

The report also sheds light on the daily habits of health-conscious Bulgarians. A significant 25% of healthy meals are ordered during dinner hours (7–9 PM), while lunchtime (12–2 PM) ranks as the second most popular time slot.

Among Bulgarian cities, Pleven has climbed into the top three for healthy food orders, following Sofia and Varna, securing its place as a notable hub for health-focused eating trends.

Glovo emphasized the popularity of food delivery services in Bulgaria, attributing the surge in healthy meal orders to a growing awareness around nutrition and convenience in maintaining a balanced lifestyle.

World Health Day, celebrated globally on April 7 since 1948, aims to promote awareness of pressing health topics. This year’s theme, “Aging and Health: Good Health Adds Life to Years,” reinforces the importance of nutrition as a cornerstone for longevity and wellness—aligning closely with the healthy eating trends now evident across Bulgaria.
