Bulgaria Rises in 2025 Global Passport Rankings, Now Among Top 30 Worldwide
Sofia, The Gulf Observer: Bulgaria rose three places to reach 29th, tying with Austria and Lithuania. The Bulgarian passport now offers visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 172 destinations and strong scores in taxation and personal freedoms.
In contrast, the United Arab Emirates—ranked first in 2023 and sixth in 2024—fell to tenth place in 2025. The drop is attributed to the introduction of new tax policies that have reportedly diminished the country’s attractiveness to entrepreneurs.
