China Pledges Collaboration with ASEAN for Regional Peace and Prosperity

Jakarta, The Gulf Observer: Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi emphasized China’s commitment to working with ASEAN to achieve common development and promote regional peace, stability, and prosperity. His remarks were delivered in a congratulatory letter to the forum on China-ASEAN future relations, held on Wednesday in Jakarta.

Wang Yi, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, highlighted the shared development paths and modernization concepts between China and ASEAN. He described China as a “friendly and close neighbor and a reliable long-term comprehensive strategic partner,” expressing willingness to align development strategies and firmly support ASEAN’s community-building efforts and its central role in the regional architecture.

“This year marks the 70th anniversary of the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence,” Wang noted, adding that these principles are highly consistent with the spirits of the ten principles of the Bandung Conference and the ASEAN Charter. He expressed hope that the forum would be utilized to offer suggestions on the future development of China-ASEAN relations, fostering a closer community of shared future and promoting equal and orderly development between the two entities.

Wang also emphasized the importance of collaboration in promoting an equal and orderly multipolar world and universally beneficial and inclusive economic globalization. He urged all parties to join hands in providing new impetus for these global objectives.

The forum, attended by various stakeholders, served as a platform to discuss and enhance the future trajectory of China-ASEAN relations, reflecting a shared commitment to regional and global stability and prosperity.
