China to Invest $1 Billion in Andijan Region of Uzbekistan

Andijan, The Gulf Observer: China is set to invest $1 billion in the Andijan region of Uzbekistan, establishing an enterprise dedicated to processing the skins and internal organs of domestic animals. This significant investment marks a major step forward in economic collaboration between the two nations.

A delegation from Uzbekistan, led by the khokim of the Andijan region, recently visited China. During this visit, the delegation familiarized themselves with the operations of Kaifeng Shengmeishun Leather Products in Kaifeng, Henan Province. The khokim, along with the chairman of the Veterinary Committee of Uzbekistan, engaged in negotiations with representatives from both the public and private sectors of China regarding the investment project.

Discussions during the visit focused on establishing contacts with leading Chinese institutions in the fields of veterinary medicine, livestock farming, poultry farming, and fishing. Additionally, they explored avenues for cooperation in scientific research and the training of Uzbek specialists.

Following these discussions, the Chinese representatives expressed their full support for the planned investment projects and scientific research initiatives in Uzbekistan. This project, valued at $1 billion, will be implemented in the Andijan region through direct investment. An initial investment of $100 million is planned for this year, with the creation of 3,000 jobs anticipated.

This collaboration underscores the strengthening economic ties between China and Uzbekistan, highlighting the potential for further bilateral cooperation in various sectors.
