China’s trade surplus swells to 42 trillion yuan in 2022
Beijing, The Gulf Observer: China’s total goods imports and exports hit record high again in 2022, expanding 7.7 percent year on year to 42.07 trillion yuan ($6.25 trillion), official data showed Friday.
Exports rose 10.5 percent on an annual basis, while imports went up 4.3 percent, according to the General Administration of Customs.
In 2022, China’s total trade value exceeded the 40-trillion-yuan mark for the first time as it maintained steady growth to reach a new record high. This has allowed the country to retain its position as the world’s largest trading nation in goods for the sixth year running.
