Egypt’s sales of gold, silver increases 17%
Cairo, the Gulf Observer: Egypt’s sales of gold and silver during 2022 increased by 17%, on an annual basis.
The petroleum ministry indicated, in a report issued, Wednesday, that about 568,000 ounces of gold and silver were sold during 2022, with a total value of $878.24 million.
It added that the value of the royalty due during 2022 amounted to about $26 million.
Furthermore, about 9.5 million tons of mineral products and raw materials were produced during 2022, marking an annual increase of 50 percent.
